<Poem>
<End Poem>
<Translation>
Ny long spade, my long spade, handle so white,
On you I depend for a living.
Not a sprout to be seen, the wild yams are buried deep,
All covered by the snow; and my clothes too short.
Simply refuse to be pulled down to cover my knees.
Returning with you, but with nothing for food,
I hear not a sound in the bouse save moans-
Moans of my wife and children, starving.
Alas! this, my second song, pouring forth,
All my neighbours sink into gloom.
